This summer Spa Adriana launched the spicy “Calypso Collection,” a zesty beauty and fashion collaboration from Spa Adriana and Jumelle Designs, a new clothing design duo from Long Island. Calypso Collection launched at a private Fashion Show held at the Overlook Estate in Cold Spring Harbor, NY.
The eastern-inspired Calypso Collection is a full line of summer dresses that mixes the sexy style of Japanese women in Tokyo with the flowing, sultry Chinese silks of Hong Kong. Fabrics make a bright and bold statement; they were hand-picked by Jumelle Design co-founders Tikimia and Eileen Boatswain, twin sisters who named their company after the French word for “twin.” The duo had traveled to Japan and China to select the right fabrics to complete their vision.
“Hair and beauty are the ultimate fashion accessories; they are ‘wearable art’ that compliments the Calypso dresses in a stunning, sophisticated, exciting way,” said Adriana Vater, co-founder and creative director of Spa Adriana. “Hair is fun, very texturized, island-inspired. Makeup is bold and playful, yet extremely feminine.”
“Both take on an organic, earthy feel. Beauty this summer is vibrant and exciting. Today’s women are not shy about having fun, and the Calypso Collection showcases that strength in attitude,” Adriana continued.
