As
spring bridal is all about natural, earthy color, our bridal
looks feature Spa Adriana’s Spice Market hair and beauty
collection, which resonates many of these tonal notes. Spice
Market boasts exotic, rich blends for bridal locks of every
hue. From reds like coppery Paprika and the sassy Chili; to
rich browns with Cinnamon, Cocoa and the delicious Dark Chocolate;
to golden Ginger and Vanilla, a creamy blend of sheer blonde
shades, there’s something for everyone. Spa Adriana
uses Aveda’s Shades of Enlightenment blonding series
and Aveda’s Full Spectrum Hair color to create the Spice
Market collection.

Wedding trends, and how they're reflected in our
customers and clientele
Makeup trends: A healthy, natural look is
key this season. Brides are seeking out the organic look we
achieve using Aveda products, which are all plant-derived
and Earth-friendly. “This organic philosophy, which
Spa Adriana adheres to, strikes a chord with our clients,
who are also very focused on health and well-being,”
said Adriana Vater, creative director for Spa Adriana. “Clean,
natural lashes that are properly curved; earthy colors on
the eyes; natural, light color for cheeks and lips. We’re
really looking to let each bride’s unique beauty shine
through so they can be their best self.”
“This is where it’s critical to begin consulting
with your beauty team six months in advance: once your skin
foundation is the way we want it to be, you’ll need
only sheer, light coverage – like gessoing an art canvas
– so you have that clean palette ready for the makeup
artist to begin applying color to the face,” said Vater.
“In this way, it will be very simple to blend the colors
with your natural coloring, for that effortless elegance.”
If a bride is looking for more drama, brides can play up
the liner around the eyes and go with a more dramatic lip
color. Don’t forget to use lip liner and then fill in
with your color; this helps to make sure you “keep your
lips on” for the entire day.
Another stylist tip: powder your lips, either before or after
(for a more matte look) applying lipstick. “This is
the #1 trick of the trade,” said Vater. “And make
sure you keep your lipstick and powder handy – like
in the maid of honor’s purse – because you’re
going to be kissing a lot of people on your wedding day!”
Hair: Hair is playful, moving away from
pin-straight, flat locks to fuller texture, and an overall
more relaxed feel. “Sleek, flat-ironed styles are gone.
Bridal hair has some volume, for a more natural, carefree
textured look,” said Vater.
Color and texture are also in the spotlight for spring brides.
“Texture was center stage at Fashion Week this fall.
Our bridal looks reflect this trend, for hair with a soft,
natural texture ‘amped up’ with creative tone-on-tone
coloring,” said Vater. “Color is the key to unlocking
the contrast in these softly-textured looks.”

The Importance of Advance Preparation
It is critical to note the importance of advance preparation
for bridal beauty. In general, we advise our clients to begin
six months in advance, consulting with our stylist team and
spa therapists to start working on any issues (color corrections,
relaxation massage therapies etc.) to make sure you’re
positively glowing for your wedding day. Skin care is also
essential to begin well in advance: the closer your skin color
is to that dewy, radiant look, the less makeup, concealer
etc. you will need for the wedding.
