Spa Adriana undertakes fundraising for clean water
Earth Month Cut-A-Thon
HUNTINGTON, NY – March 21, 2013 -- April is Earth Month at Spa Adriana. In partnership with botanical beauty brand, Aveda, Spa Adriana is committed to helping in raising $5 million for clean water. Spa Adriana is stepping up to support the effort on April 22 along with thousands of other Aveda spa and salons nationwide.
“Spa Adriana continually strives to set an example of environmental leadership and responsibility,” said John Vater, owner of Spa Adriana. “For over 25 years we have committed ourselves to the organic trend in hair- and skincare. We take pride in our partnership with Aveda and look forward to helping the company in its fundraiser endeavor.”
Spa Adriana is donating 100% of its profits from Hair Cut Services on Monday, April 22, 2013. Aveda stylists in salons worldwide – from Tokyo, to Sydney, Moscow, London, New York and Minneapolis will donate 100% of their profits from haircuts to Earth Month, a simple and beautiful way for their guests to actively care for the environment.
Aveda professionals in more than 30 countries have collectively raised more than $26 million for in support of Earth Month since the campaign’s inception in 1999. Beginning in 2007, Aveda has donated Earth Month proceeds to organizations working to combat the clean water crisis – to date more than $20 million have been directed to support hundreds of clean water projects on six continents. Funds raised by Spa Adriana will benefit Clean Ocean Action– a local charity that advocates for the health of waterways in the New York and New Jersey area.
“We believe that good business is responsible business,” continued Vater. “It is so gratifying to participate in a program like Aveda Earth Month that allows us to participate in a global initiative that directly benefits the community where we live and work.”
In addition to raising money for clean water, Spa Adriana along with Aveda salons nationwide will jointly attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the most money raised for a charity by haircuts in a 24-hour period.

Earth Month Cut-a-thon
We are doing an Earth Month Cut-a-thon to raise monies for Clean Ocean Action here in the NY area. The funds are going to beach and waterway cleanup from Hurricane Sandy. We know you might not be able to make it to the event, but maybe you can still help with a donation.
