"Rural Awakening"

Milieu October Style 2013

In an era where everything is high-tech, flashy and abundant, simplicity and taking joy in the little things is back on Long Island this fall and they are as beautiful as ever! Think jeans partnered with cowboy boots and turquoise jewelry.  Compliment the look with natural looking highlights and fresh from the outside make-up.  Now, you have just become this fall’s fashion maven.

And, at Spa Adriana this trend is front and center with its new Rural Awakening beauty collection. The new “Rural Awakening ” signature beauty collection, designed by Spa Adriana, the award-winning Aveda lifestyle salon and spa, revisits a simpler time.

“There is beauty in the simple things, a style crafted by hand rather than a high tech approach,” said Adriana Vater, Creative Director and co-owner, Spa Adriana.  “This fall’s hair color gives homage to the heritage of Long Island farms with a pallet of organic tones.”

As seen on our model Eva, the natural beauty of two cornrowed braids on the side are pulled out to give a fuller look. Give hair volume throughout the crown and add hairpieces to create a fuller bouncy ponytail.  Eva has Aveda’s new Winter Peach highlights which boosts her blonde hair with rose and peach dimensions.

Rejuvenate dry, over exposed summer skin with the Tourmaline skin care line.  The Green Science Perfecting Plant Peel gives your skin the TLC it needs. With antioxidants and anti aging benefits, it leaves your skin refreshed and plumped without redness or irritation.  Finish it off with the smoothing body polish to help remove dry skin and uneven tan pigments.

Makeup look for fall is beautiful and natural and luminescent.  Touch up uneven spots with concealer and apply a mineral based tinted moisturizer for even coverage.  On eyes brush antique gold from lash line to crease followed with black mascara.   Lips are bright bold and matte.  A darker plum fading to a light pink in the center gives a full pouty ombre look.

All hair and makeup was done by Adriana Vater and the world-class Spa Adriana Artistic team.  John S Vater, Spa Adriana, provided set design, editorial concept and photography.
